Each year, the Kentucky Entrepreneur Hall of Fame celebrates stories of Kentucky's most successful entrepreneurs. The mission of the annual award is to raise awareness of the impact that entrepreneurship has made in the Commonwealth and to encourage others to pursue similar endeavors. Williams was presented with his award by former CSI board member Dr. Constantine Curris during the fifth annual Kentucky Entrepreneur Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014.

Throughout his lengthy career in the financial services industry, Williams has earned numerous honors for his leadership and innovation, including the Governor's Technology Award for Kentucky, induction into the University of Kentucky's Gatton College of Business and Economics Hall of Fame, and Murray State University's Telecommunications Systems Management Department's inaugural Entrepreneurship Award, which has been renamed the John A. Williams Entrepreneurship Award in his honor. Outside of his work with CSI, William currently serves as co-chair for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute for School Principals. Additionally, he has held previous positions as chairman of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Louisville Branch and is a founder and the first president of the Association of Financial Technology (AFT).

"I am deeply honored to be recognized as an inductee into the Kentucky Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and will strive to continue to live up to the standards set by my fellow honorees and those recognized previously," said Williams. "Nearly 50 years after starting CSI, I will look to this honor as further motivation to maintain CSI's momentum in the financial industry."
