BioAlberta Members Recognized at 2014 AGM and Awards GalaCALGARY, Alberta --(Business Wire)-- BioAlberta hosted its 15th Annual AGM and Awards Gala in Calgary, with an audience of approximately 100 representatives from industry, government and educational institutions. The event recognized companies and individuals within Alberta's life sciences industry for their innovation, leadership and achievement. BioAlberta would like to congratulate the following award recipients for inspiring new ways of thinking and for their contributions to the industry: Dr. Bernhard Seifried is the recipient of the Scientific Achievement and Innovation Award. This award recognizes an individual or a team who is responsible for a breakthrough innovation with commercial application. Dr. Seifried, an expert in supercritical fluids and high pressure processing with over ten years of experience, is a co-inventor of PGX. This award, accepted by President and CEO, Dr. Jianhua Zhu, is presented to a company that has shown significant achievement within the marketplace and Alberta's business community through strong performance or a leadership role. BioNeutra, an Edmonton-based company began in 2003 with a goal to introduce healthier eating options. The company identified a novel product that had been used in Asia for a number of years as an alternative sweetener called isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO).
