Alfresco Software Wins Red Herring Top 100 Global Award

SAN MATEO, Calif. & MAIDENHEAD, England --(Business Wire)--

Alfresco Software has won Red Herring's 2014 Top 100 Global award, a prestigious recognition honoring leading private companies from North America, Europe, and Asia.

Red Herring's (News - Alert) Top 100 Global list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube (News - Alert), and eBay would change the way we live and work.

"Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across the globe to the Top 100 Winners. We believe Alfresco Software embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture."

Red Herring's editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track records and standing of startups relative to their peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the "buzz" and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models from around the world. Alfresco Software was a winner of the Red Herring Top 100 America, an award that honors the year's most promising private technology ventures. The company was selected from close to 3,000 tech startups from the United States and Canada.

"The past year has been a significant one for Alfresco - with our funding announcement, new versions of our enterprise solutions, and a commitment to the enterprise content management marketplace by being a leader in open-source, hybrid solutions for organizations that rely on a robust ECM solution," said Doug Dennerline, Alfresco CEO. "Being named a Red Herring Top 100 Global company highlights the impact that Alfresco is creating for businesses and government organizations around the world."

Alfresco was also recently chosen as one of the Top 25 Fastest-Growing Internet Companies in Europe by Informilo. Informilo is an independent media company that looks in depth at the key trends affecting industry today. To identify the most promising, fastest-growing Internet companies in Europe, Informilo asked some of the most active investors in the sector to nominate and evaluate companies outside their own portfolios.
