Coronado National Forest Selects Accela Civic Platform for Recreation and Resource Management

SAN RAMON, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Accela (News - Alert), the leading provider of civic engagement solutions for government, today announced that Coronado National Forest has selected the Accela Civic Platform for Recreation and Resource Management. Accela solutions will make it easy for visitors to obtain entrance passes online and remove long lines and manual processes.

Spread across 12 mountain ranges in southeast Arizona and southwest New Mexico, Coronado National Forest covers over 1.78 million acres of land, offering visitors over 1,100 miles of trails, camping sites and wildlife-viewing. There are four specific day use areas that require a Coronado Recreational Pass: Sabino Canyon, Madera Canyon, Cave Creek and Mt. Lemmon. Previously, visitors had to obtain local forest passes by visiting the National Forest district office during regular business hours. /p>

Accela Recreation and Resource Management is a secure, cloud-based solution integrated with popular payment processing providers. The technology enables quick, easy online access and the ability to purchase and self-print passes directly from the National Forest's web page. The complete recreation management solution helps the public to easily access and reserve recreational areas such as campgrounds within parks and forests and register for permits and licenses for activities within wildlife refuges. Citizens have the choice to pay for entrance passes and recreation use onsite, online or on their mobile devices, whenever and wherever it is convenient.

"We're thrilled to support the Coronado National Forest by enabling its visitors to purchase and print passes online," said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. "We want more tourists to enjoy the trails and wildlife at our National Forests. This simple technology will improve the citizen experience by eliminating the need to wait in line at a district office and will enable visitors to spend more time enjoying the breathtaking sights."
