VMI and USAA Provide New Financing and Exclusive Incentives on Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles for USAA Members

PHOENIX --(Business Wire)--

Vantage Mobility International (VMI) today announced an agreement with USAA that will make it easier for USAA members to secure a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV (News - Alert)). Under the agreement, USAA members can apply directly for financing from USAA and access special promotional offers from the USAA Car Buying Service powered by TrueCar, wherever they live in the United States.

The USAA financing program provides loans with competitive terms for acquisition of VMI wheelchair accessible vans through one of VMI's 200 dealer locations nationwide.

"For over a quarter century, VMI has led the charge to help disabled American veterans regain their mobility with the wheelchair accessible van they deserve," said Doug Eaton (News - Alert), president of VMI. "We're honored to work with USAA, a leading financial services provider that serves members of the U.S. military, veterans and their families. Now USAA members can access a special program for our world-class vehicles that will provide them with financing and exclusive vehicle discounts through our dealers nationwide."

Under the terms of the agreement USAA members with approved credit can fast track delivery of their Toyota, Honda (News - Alert) or Chrysler minivan with a VMI ramp conversion. Approved applicants can use their lan to purchase a new or used wheelchair accessible van at VMI dealerships anywhere in the United States. Specific terms and loan information and information on the vehicle discount can be found at USAA.com.

"A key aspect of Operation Independence is educating disabled veterans and their caretakers about wheelchair accessible vehicles," added Jeff Weston, a former US Army Captain and VMI Vice President of Sales and Business Development. "All too often, they're unaware that VMI specifically engineered a vehicle to help them regain their independence. Our veteran advocate center will also educate veterans on their government mobility benefits. We will also advise them of the program available through USAA that will allow USAA members to locally procure the WAV that best meets their needs and budget."

The first step is for a USAA member to visit the USAA Car Buying Service (usaa.com/mobilityvans). The member will then be directed to the VMI customer Advocate Center where the buying and/or financing process will be explained.

"This agreement demonstrates the deep commitment to veterans shared by USAA, TrueCar, VMI and our dealers," said Tim Barone, VMI CFO and partner. "VMI's new F&I department and USAA have carefully forged a far-reaching program that was designed to educate, expedite and ease the process of securing a wheelchair accessible vehicle for USAA members. It's our belief that this will unlock a new life for the men and women who have served our country."

In 2013, VMI launched its "Operation Independence" initiative to help veterans achieve independence and gain greater access to life. The premier manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans founded a veteran advocate center, established relationships with the Paralyzed Veterans of America and AMVETS, instituted the "Star Spangled Salute" contest to give away a van each year to an American veteran and trained its dealer network to educate veterans about their benefits.
