Tributary Announces LTO 6 Devices for HP NonStop Systems

At this week's HP CONNECT NonStop Advanced Technical Boot Camp, Tributary Systems Inc. announced general availability of high speed, high capacity LTO 6 tape devices for HP NonStop NS and NB systems running the J-Series operating system.

"Our LTO 6 devices deliver up to 150TB in our 24-cartridge ACL devices," said Kevin St. Cyr, Tributary Systems VP of Hardware Engineering. "The Tributary LTO 6 devices are backward compatible with other LTO tapes, and set new standards for data integrity and reliability."

Tributary Systems LTO 6 tape devices for the NonStop come in three models:

1. M8801A Rack Mount, 24 LTO 6 cartridge ACL w/FC interface

2. M8802A Table Top, 24 LTO 6 cartridge ACL w/FC interfac

3. M8805A Table Top, Single LTO 6 cartridge w/SAS (News - Alert) interface

The New Tributary LTO 6 Tape Drives provide:

• High Capacity/High Speed: Stores up to 6.25TB (assuming 2.5:1 compression) per LTO 6 cartridge at transfer rates exceeding those of LTO 5
• Dependability: Sets new standards for data integrity and reliability, with a simple and robust design based on inherently reliable, proven LTO (Linear Tape Open) technology
• Reliability: Protects your data with a simple, high integrity data path, including read and write dynamic random access memory
• Security: Fully supports ESKM (Enterprise Secure Key Manager) versions 2.1 and 3.0
• Compatibility: LTO 6 drives read and write to LTO 6 and LTO 5 media, and read only LTO 4 media
• Future proofing: The LTO Consortium (HP, IBM and Quantum (News - Alert)) has committed to this technology through the early 2020's (LTO 10)
