NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP ("SRZ") is pleased to announce that Frank P. Steinherr has joined the firm as special counsel in the New York office. Mr. Steinherr will focus his practice on mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, securities and capital markets transactions. Mr. Steinherr joins SRZ from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.

Mr. Steinherr brings to SRZ expertise in advising private equity clients in all aspects of their investment in portfolio companies, from acquisition through exit, and has represented clients in both private and public mergers & acquisitions, including traditional purchase and sale transactions, strategic mergers, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, restructurings and recapitalizations, and tender offers. He also has significant experience representing clients in carve-out transactions.

SRZ M&A partners Stuart D. Freedman and Marc Weingarten serve as co-chairs of the Business Transactions Group, which is regularly involved in a wide range of complex transactions. Significant SRZ deals include the pending $9 billion acquisition by affiliates of Albertson's LLC of Safeway, Inc., which is the second-largest traditional supermarket in the U.S. SRZ has represented Albertson's in a number of substantial M&A transactions over the past nine years, including its 2013 acquisition of New Albertson's Inc. from SUPERVALU. SRZ also recently represented Cerberus Capital Management LP in its acquisition of the automotive interiors business of Visteon Corporation in a cross-border transaction involving more than 20 countries.



Other high-profile M&A matters handled by the firm include its representation of: Tennenbaum Capital Partners LLC in the Novacap TMT IV LP acquisition of Dialogic (News - Alert) Inc.; Veritas Capital Management LLC in the $310 million acquisition of IT software company BeyondTrust Software Inc. from Insight Venture Partners; Tiptree Financial Inc. in its acquisition of Fortegra Financial Corporation; Marlin Equity Partners LLC in its $891 million acquisition of Tellabs (News - Alert); and Aeroflex Holding Corp. in its sale to Cobham plc for $1.46 billion, among others.
