Lumeta Adds Pay-As-You-Go Pricing on AWS Marketplace

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Invent, LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 AWS re: Lumeta Corporation announced today the availability of an hourly pricing model for its Lumeta Enterprise Situational Intelligence (ESI) software for Amazon Web Services (AWS) on AWS Marketplace. By introducing flexible billing options for ESI, Lumeta provides customers with the ability to spin services up or down as needed. Organizations can quickly and seamlessly enable network situational awareness capabilities – such as network discovery, host discovery, leak path discovery and related cybersecurity anomalies – without requiring upfront investment. This new paid Amazon Machine Image (AMI) for ESI is available on an hourly or an annual subscription basis (AWS usage fees apply). These new billing options build on Lumeta's previously announced solution on AWS, available in a "Bring Your Own License" (BYOL) model.

Enterprise and government AWS customers can use ESI to continuously monitor their network security posture and gain real-time network situational awareness of both AWS instances and on-premises physical or virtual infrastructure. Complementing the existing BYOL version, the new, on-demand, pay-as-you-go model for ESI on AWS allows customers to quickly achieve their goals around network situational awareness, while benefiting from a predictable cost model.

Key Benefits    •  Comprehensive View of the Network – Comprised of multiple network crawling methods including network, host, enhanced perimeter and leak path discovery, ESI uses a combination of active interrogation, passive listening and advanced profiling techniques to search everything that's on the network (not just an IP range that is assumed to be in use by the administrator), resulting in a comprehensive, authoritative view of the entire routed infrastructure – all IP connections and devices, including those previously unknown. ESI acts in real time to detect changes to the network's security.

   •  Visibility into the Dynamic Nature of the Cloud in Real Time – ESI discovers, maps and alerts about network topology changes, including transitory virtual machines (VMs), AMIs and other virtualized network functions (gateways, switch/router/firewall and forwarding devices). ESI forms a holistic view of both physical and virtual networks, providing perspective of network vulnerability from within a network data center and throughout any cloud instances.

   •  Simplified Deployment in the Cloud – By introducing on-demand provisioning, Lumeta is enabling organizations to easily add services to support their security program.

   •  Flexible Billing and Reduced Capital Expenses – Customers on AWS can pay just for the Lumeta services they use, lowering overall TCO. Hourly pricing models remove the need for up-front capital expenses, making Lumeta's network situational awareness capabilities more accessible to the growing number of customers. With Lumeta's utility billing offerings on AWS Marketplace, customers only pay for what they use – spinning up or down instances as needed – to optimize overall costs. Customers can choose hourly pricing or an annual subscription, or apply previously purchased licenses via the BYOL approach. The AWS Marketplace annual subscription options for ESI potentially allow CAPEX savings of up to 15 percent when compared to hourly pricing over the same 12 month period.

With the AWS shared responsibility security model, AWS is responsible for securing the underlying infrastructure, while customers take responsibility for the security of their own AMI virtual appliance (guest OS and application). ESI provides IT security and operations teams with the ability to efficiently and effectively improve their protection efforts by gaining visibility of all AMIs connected to the enterprise network (via VPN) in order to properly ensure their security. ESI securely transmits scan results back to the ESI Command Center management console for analysis alongside on-premises scan results.

"As enterprise cloud usage becomes pervasive, Lumeta network situational awareness adds valuable visibility to cybersecurity teams of what's going on within one or multiple instances on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) or Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC). By adding an hourly billing capability, Lumeta's cloud solutions become more accessible to organizations pursuing the IT flexibility and lower TCO that AWS offers," said Reggie Best, chief product officer at Lumeta. "If you are running workloads in the cloud, Lumeta helps assure that enterprise cybersecurity and network situational awareness policies are extensible to the cloud as well." "We are excited to have Lumeta offer their Enterprise Situational Intelligence (ESI) with hourly pricing on AWS Marketplace," said Terry Hanold, Vice President, AWS Platform and Marketplace, Amazon Web Services, Inc." Lumeta's ESI offering can help customers quickly launch new initiatives without large up-front costs, while taking advantage of savings for steady-state, long-term workloads." Availability, Pricing & Additional Information Lumeta ESI version 2.1 is available now on the AWS Marketplace as an hourly or annual offering ($0.98/hour or annual subscription of $6825 for 1,000 IP addresses + AWS usage fees).
