2-in-1 smartphone stunner [New Straits Time (Malaysia)](New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ASUS has announced the availability of PadFone S, an innovative five-inch Full HD smartphone featuring technology such as 4G LTE- Advanced connectivity, Near Field Communication support and a 13- megapixel PixelMaster camera. It features a five-inch Full HD screen, Android 4.4 Kit-Kat OS, and has a thin and light design with a stunning In-Plane Switching (IPS) 1920 x 1200 display covered with durable, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 plus an anti-fingerprint coating. This tough design helps protect PadFone S against falls, accidental spills and getting caught in the occasional rain shower. What's unique about the Pad-Fone S is that it can be docked into the PadFone S Station (sold separately) to transform it into a nine- inch tablet. So users have the flexibility to choose the optimal screen size for any scenario such as making phone or video calls, composing email, watching videos or playing games. In dock mode, running apps on the phone are seamlessly resized to fit the larger display. It is also big in sound, where its dual-front speakers provide rich and immersive sound, and complement the large display to deliver good entertainment experiences. The PadFone S is powered by a Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 801 quadcore 2.3GHz processor to provide the needed performance such as the latest apps and games. When docked in the optional tablet, its large battery charges the phone, providing up to two-times longer battery life. Camera-wise, the PadFone S features a 13-megapixel and f/2.0 aperture PixelMaster camera for capturing stunning photographs, which are said to rival or surpass those taken by dedicated digital cameras. It also has an external image signal processor (ISP) to provide enhanced noise reduction for smoother, better-looking photos.
