Shuttle InfoComm MEA post-show report

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 04 November 2014 Release date- 03112014 - Once again, InfoComm in MEA was an exciting show for Shuttle Inc.

Located in the trade hub of the MEA region in the emirate of Dubai and coinciding with GITEX, the region's largest IT tradeshow, InfoComm was well attended by Pro-AV industry professionals from all over the world. Shuttle's booth at InfoComm featured small form factor computer (SFF) hardware for digital signage, kiosk, POS, vending machine, and biometrics applications in addition to its updated digital education platform, EDUPAL.

Shuttle's digital signage lineup included a range of media players, including windows-based and ARM-based players. Visitors at the show were able to see live and static demo of Shuttle's all-new three display media players, the XH97V, DS87, and the SH97R6, each device able to support 4K video content on one screen or Full HD video content on up to three screens via two DisplayPort and one HDMI port. The XH97V comes packed in a 3-liter chassis that is able to support up to three 2.5' HDD/SSD or one 3.5' HDD for added storage. The DS87 has a mere body thickness of 4.3mm and is built to integrate into compact spaces with VESA mount capability. The SH97R6 is a mini-PC built for mini-server, video surveillance, and video wall application as it integrates and (1) PCI-Ex16 and (1) PCI-Ex4 slots.

This year's InfoComm was the official debut of Shuttle's partnership with digital signage software provider, Navori. All digital signage content at Shuttle's booth was displayed from Navori's content management platform. Shuttle's newly released SH81R4 mini PC acted as server to dispatch content to three media players (two Windows-based and one Android). The partnership with Navori includes the certification of Shuttle's DS81, a barebones media player built to support Intel 4th generation Core i3/i5/i7 processors. The partnership with Navori is a strategic move for the SFF champion, Shuttle Inc., as they continue to expand their digital signage market in the Middle East. The Swiss software provider has a strong market presence throughout the Middle East with a branch office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Also on display at the show was Shuttle's soon to be released All-in-One PC which features integrated CPU for POS, kiosk, and Queuing system application. Customers at the show were particularly interested in Shuttle's facial recognition device, the HR70. The device is a turnkey solution with globally recognized biometrics software integrated onto Shuttle's hardware platform. With a false acceptance rate (FAR) of less than 0.01% and a false rejection rate of less than 1.9% (when FAR is under 0.01%), the device is well-suited for access management application. While it's currently being applied at the Kaohsiung International Airport to screen thousands of foreigners at customs gates each year, the HR70 also has application in corporate settings and meeting rooms, any place in need of secured access control. The HR70 on display at InfoComm is Shuttle's second edition and allows for users to register on any client device and have information synced from client to administrator devices within one minute - a major selling point for projects which require multiple devices for multiple access points (eg. Corporate and bank offices).

Visitors to InfoComm were also given a demo of Shuttle's digital education platform, EDUPAL. EDUPAL is an education solution designed with innovative and user-friendly UI and proven success to enhance the learning process in school systems. This solution is made for easy integration into classrooms with customizable expansion packs for teachers, students, and school administrators. It provides an effective and efficient tool for teaching, learning, and administration. Whether for schools, education systems, or governments, EDUPAL integrates more collaboration and interactivity into the classroom.

The EDUPAL ebook management system was a key highlight of this year's show. It's a complete digital content and reading management solution which includes an e-library system and back-end cloud management.
