NRTC Welcomes Greg Santoro as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer [Global Data Point]

As someone who grew up in a rural area, I understand the challenges and I look forward to the opportunity of developing new ideas and solutions to help NRTC meet its mission," Santoro said.



Santoro previously was chief marketing and strategy officer for NII Holdings Inc., which provides mobile communications services to nearly 10 million users in Latin America. He led NII's corporate branding and product, and strategy efforts and developed more than 40 new products, services and handsets.

Earlier, Santoro held the positions of vice president of product innovation at Sprint Nextel Corp. and vice president of products and services for Nextel Communications, Inc. At Nextel, he managed a team of over 250 product, marketing, business and web development professionals. He was responsible for introducing several industry innovations including the first Java-based mobile app platform, the first PTT enabled Blackberry as well as one of the earliest GPS installation and location services for mobile phones in the United States.


He also has held executive positions BellSouth.net and Digital Equipment Corp. Santoro is a graduate of the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT and has Masters' degrees in Engineering Management and Business Administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
