Xiaomi Tech Edges into Global Top 5 Smart Phone Makers(Sinocast Computers & Electronics Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BEIJING, October 30, SinoCast -- IDC released a research report, revealing global smart phone shipment of 327.6 million in the third quarter, rising 25.2% from 261.7 million a year earlier and 8.7% from 301.3 million a quarter ago. Xiaomi Tech for the first time edged into global top five smart phone makers, ranking world number three in the reporting period, thanks to focus on China and surrounding market, realizing three-figure yearly growth, only next to Samsung and Apple. Samsung still takes the lead in global smart phone market, but is the sole company to suffer from declining shipment among top five. Lenovo and LG ranked number four concurrently, benefited from stable development home and abroad, snatching 20% of the global market, higher than 9% a year ago. |
