Bratton Discusses CPU Infrastructure, Politics & Governance


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BURNABY, British Columbia, Oct. 28 -- Simon Fraser University issued the following news release: Theorist Benjamin Bratton will speak about growing computer infrastructure and its affect on politics and governance at Simon Fraser University's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts on Wednesday, October 29.



Currently the director of the Center for Design and Geopolitics at the University of California, Bratton will elaborate on how increasing development and reliance on smart grids, cloud computing, mobile software and smart cities -which, when viewed together constitute an "accidental megastructure" called The Stack - poses challenges for governments and governance.

During the lecture Bratton will map the existing Stack as well as what it may look like in the future. Presented by SFU Woodward's Cultural Unit, tickets for Benjamin Bratton are $10 and available online.
