Equity Management and Realty Hosts 3rd Annual Board Member Symposium

TEMECULA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Equity Management & Realty Services, an Associa company, recently hosted its 3rd Annual Board Member Symposium at Wilson Creek Winery. This year's topic, "Water Crisis and Managing the Drought" was hosted by the Eastern Municipal Water District. "Ask the Attorney" Roundtable was added this year to help board members navigate through some of the more intricate legal challenges the HOA's face on all levels.

"For the third year, our Board Member Symposium has been a great success," said Lisa Locke, president and CEO of Equity Management & Realty Services. "Equity wants to provide our board members with all the tools and resources they need to meet the complex range of demands for their community. We are committed to sharing the knowledge and expertise of our team and industry partners."

Guest speaker Kevin Pearson from Eastern Municipal Water District presented an overview of EMWD, including their water supply sources, their expansive recycled water program, the impact the drought will have on their local customers and the rebate program to help homeowners conserve water and to save on their water bills.

The Attorney Roundtable was represented by Stephen Kirkland of Peters & Freedman, LLP; Jon Epsten of Epsten Grinnell & Howell, APC (News - Alert); Adrian Adams of Adams Kessler; and Robert DeNichilo of Nordberg/DeNichilo. The HOA board members questioned the legal team concerning a variety of topics from landscape contracts, amending current contracts to reflect "water wise material" to artificial turf and construction defects. The board members were extremely grateful for the opportunity to meet with the attorneys and to obtain answers to their many questions.

Richard Restuccia, director for Water Management Solutions at ValleyCrest Landscape Companies and platinum sponsor of the event, presented to the HOA board members the financial and social benefits water fficiency has on their communities. He is a regular contributor to Lawn & Landscape Magazine. His latest article highlights Jon Epsten of Epsten Grinnell & Howell regarding contracts and water management.
