Frontier completes acquisition of AT&T's Connecticut operations [TeleGeography CommsUpdate]

(TeleGeography CommsUpdate Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US broadband operator Frontier Communications Corporation has completed its USD2 billion acquisition of AT&T's Connecticut wireline local exchange and 'U-verse' video operations across the state, in addition to AT&T's state-wide fibre network and AT&T's DISH satellite TV customers in Connecticut. The transaction includes consumer, business and wholesale fixed network/TV customer relationships, while AT&T retains its wireless operations in the state. Connecticut is the 28th state in Frontier's portfolio, the buyer's press release added.

Since the transaction was announced in December 2013, Frontier received approval from the US Department of Justice, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority and other state regulatory authorities. At the time of the deal's announcement the acquisition covered more than 900,000 wireline voice connections, approximately 415,000 broadband subscribers and around 180,000 U-verse video customers.
