Alienware's Graphics Amplifier is an external graphics box that only works with an Alienware [T-break Tech (Middle East)]

(T-break Tech (Middle East) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Gaming laptops have come a long way from the days of bulky form-factors to thin and light with good graphics prowess and efficient cooling solutions, but normal laptops still doesn’t match up or are at least close with the desktop graphic counterparts. Now, Alienware brings their own 460-watt external graphics card dock called the Graphics Amplifier that houses a full PCIe x4 slot. Yes, this means you can fill the Amplifier with any full blown desktop graphics card from NVIDIA or AMD.

The Amplifer will also sport 4 USB ports. Unfortunately, the Amplifier will prove useless for most because the box can only be connected with a propriety PCI-Express connector of Alienware. Right now, the only model that exists to be compatible is all the new Alienware 13 that was introduced a couple of months back. Dell says the upcoming future Alienware models will sport the new propriety connection as well. If you're interested in the Graphics Amplifier, it will cost you $299 (1098 AED), but don't forget to buy an Alienware 13 which starts at a price of $999 (3669 AED), and a desktop graphics card too. Sorry customers who owns the older generation Alienware laptops.
