(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 NAPW honors Mary Lee Weir as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Weir is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

"I spent eight years traveling the world, working as a freelancer and donating my services as a web and media expert to small NGO's (nonprofits)," says Ms. Weir. "Then I came back to the US and after a year, founded Satya Media Group (SMG). It's been nerve wracking but exciting!" As CEO of SMG, Ms. Weir leads an international team of talented professionals who provide creative, innovative and affordable web design and development services. Recently, the company launched MySecureMeeting™, its first stream-lined product that offers organizations the unique ability to host secure video conferences through their websites and/or mobile devices for up to 20 people. "I'm very eager to get MySecureMeeting™ out there. It's been a long haul. My team and I spent 13 months developing it," says Ms. Weir, who looks forward to continuing to expand SMG globally, including establishing an office in Kenya.

In addition to her expertise as a Front End Programmer, Ms. Weir is also a talented filmmaker who believes strongly in giving back through film. This passion has led her to establish SevaVision, SMG's charity arm, a nonprofit that strives to help organizations raise money and awareness for their causes. She recently completed a documentary, "Until They Turn 18 - Exploring the Emotions of an Aged-Out Foster Child," in cooperation with Hibiscus Children's Center. The film highlights the difficulties teenagers between 16 and 18 face when they age out of the foster care system.
