LG announces the "G3 Screen" phablet with its own homegrown processor [T-break Tech (Middle East)]

(T-break Tech (Middle East) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LG has added a new phablet called the "G3 Screen" into its G3 smartphone portfolio with a new strategy. The chip that runs the device is called the NUCLUN, an 8-core big.LITTLE processor built by LG. The NUCLUN sports four Cortex A15 performance cores speeding up to 1.5 GHz and four Cortex A7 low-power cores with speeds up to 1.2 GHz.

The NUCLUN chip is backed by 2GB of RAM to run Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone carries a large 5.9-inch IPS display with Full HD sharpness along with a large 3000mAh battery. You will get a storage of 32GB along with Micro SD card slot for memory expansion. The chip also supports LTE Category 6 high speed downloads. Although being a phablet, it doesn't come with a stylus as the G3 Stylus.

This is the first time LG uses a chip baked from its own house for its smartphones, moving away from Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors. The new oddly named "G3 Screen" will come in black or white colors. No word on the pricing and availability yet.
