Transatel unveils SIM 901 embedded connectivity system [New Vision (Uganda)]

(New Vision (Uganda) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) European MVNO aggregator Transatel has introduced an end-to-end embedded connectivity system that allows device manufacturers to provide 3G/ LTE services to end-users with one unique Sim card. The technology for the SIM 901 is based on the multi-local 901 mobile network code.

The SIM 901 system gives local plug-and-play 3G/LTE connectivity at local rates in multiple countries, backed by Transatel agreements with mobile operators across the world. It provides device manufacturers with a single interface to deliver all services around the world as well as features to deploy cloud services. The system can be deployed under different business models: from a white label turnkey system operated by Transatel, to the Enabler or Aggregator models where device manufacturers themselves manage data offers and services.

Transatel said that its new sytem goes further than the recently launched Apple Sim, as it enables device manufacturers to sell their own connectivity services, globally, and at local rates.

Transatel will present its SIM 901 to the international CES event in Las Vegas.
