ASUSTeK Computer Becomes Global No.3 Laptop Maker(Sinocast Computers & Electronics Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TAIWAN, October 23, SinoCast -- NPD DisplaySearch revealed that ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has outpaced Dell as global third laptop maker in consideration of shipment in the second quarter. Lenovo Group and Hewlett-Packard ranked global number one and number two with 18% and 17% market share. The figures were 12% and 11% for number four Dell and number five Acer. The change of ranking by ASUSTeK Computer resulted from rising shipment of its major products. In contrast to a year earlier, its overall shipment in Europe, Mainland China and Asia hiked 19%.
