WIT School of Business Hosts Their Second Doctoral Research Colloquium(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WATERFORD, Ireland, Oct. 22 -- Waterford Institute of Technology issued the following news release: WIT School of Business hosted the second Doctoral Research Colloquium for senior business leaders pursuing advanced research studies within the School. The Colloquium event is held for DBA students at WIT and for invited guests including examiners, visiting professors and faculty members. The event allows doctoral research students to present papers and ideas, interact with peers and network and receive feedback from the range of examiners in attendance. The DBA was introduced to the School of Business in 2010 and is aimed at senior leaders in Irish and International businesses. It seeks to develop management expertise through rigorous research design, positioning the DBA graduate for rapid organisation and career progression. Modeled on international best practice, the unique modular structure and flexible delivery mode provides for an innovative and challenging educational experience. The keynote speaker for the event was Professor Kiran Trehan. Professor Trehan is a leading expert on enterprise, and diversity in ethnic minority entrepreneurship. Professor Trehan is Academic Director for the Centre for Women's Enterprise and Leadership (CWEL) at Birmingham University Business School and is Co- Director of The Enterprise and Diversity Alliance (EDA), a new-generation response to transforming communities and corporations through mutually beneficial enterprise activities. She is Co- Editor of Action Learning: Research & Practice and is a leading contributor to debates on the distinctiveness of critical action learning, and how it can be applied in a variety of organisational and policy domains.
