LAKE ZONE: PPF lends support to science lab project [Citizen, The (Tanzania)]


(Citizen, The (Tanzania) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MWANZA.Parastatal Pensions Fund (PPF) has donated 200 cement bags to support the construction of three laboratory rooms at Capri-Point Secondary School in Nyamagana Municipality, Mwanza Region.



Speaking after handing over thedonation, PPF manager for Lake Zone, Mr Meshack Bandawe, said the assistance was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the community.

He added that PPF was very much concerned with the construction of labs in ward secondary schools as directed by President Jakaya Kikwete that by the end of next month all public schools must have science laboratories.


"As a pension scheme, we have been supporting various community projects in different sectors and we are very much concerned with the welfare of school children especially those interested in undertaking science subjects.

Today (Sunday) we are providing this little aid to support the government and wananchi's endeavours," he said.

And reiterated : "We strongly urge other stakeholders to support the ongoing efforts by the government to improve the education sector in our country." Nyamagana councillor, Mr Biku Kotecha commended PPF for its support, saying the provided aid will help the school to complete construction of laboratories and improve the quality of education students will receive at the school.
