ARCADIS helps TenneT renew and reinforce its European high voltage power networks(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 20 October 2014 Release date- 17102014 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the world's leading natural and built asset design and consultancy firm, announced today that it has been selected as a preferred supplier to provide engineering services for TenneT, a leading European electricity transmission system operator. As preferred supplier, ARCADIS will participate in two framework agreements for a period of three years (with a possible 2 times 2 years extension). One contract is valued at EUR26 million and the other EUR13 million. ARCADIS will share each contract with two other firms. Between now and 2023, TenneT will roll out an extensive investment program in the Netherlands. Engineering will be a meaningful part of this investment and will include technical studies and designs needed to maintain and adjust the high voltage power distribution base stations, power lines and support systems, with the exception of the IT component. ARCADIS will provide system and back-up system design capabilities, telecommunications expertise, electromagnetic pulse and grounding know-how to ensure safety, as well as construction design and supervision, and quality control services. In addition, ARCADIS could become involved in related activities, such as permitting, planning and geotechnical services.
