Palm Beach Maritime Foundation Engages TransMedia Group [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TransMedia Group reported it will put publicity winds behind the sails of the mission to build a full-scale replica of the historic sailing ship Hornet that played a role in the creation of Florida.

According to a media release, a Resolution was signed on May 13, by the Governor and his Cabinet recognizing the USS Hornet of 1805 as the Official Sailing Ambassador Extraordinaire of Goodwill, Trade, and Education for the State of Florida, and encourage support for the Palm Beach Maritime Foundation. The 450-ton full-rigged sailing vessel will be built in West Palm Beach as a public demonstration of historic wooden ship building.

The firm said it was retained by the Palm Beach Maritime Foundation to conduct a publicity and funding campaign for building the replica of the legendary sailing ship of the American Navy, which played a heroic role during the War of 1812 and in suppressing piracy in Florida waters.

"Our publicity will show how this replica will visit Peanut Island and will create hundreds of jobs in Palm Beach County, many filled by U.S. Navy veterans, and will become a major tourist destination in many ports around the state." said TransMedia CEO Tom Madden.

Palm Beach Maritime Foundation, a 501-c3 non-profit organization, will construct and operate the USS Hornet as an educational experience for Florida students in partnership with the Naval Heritage Society.

TransMedia Group is an international PR firm.
