KIADB asked to speed up information technology investment region [Bangalore] [Times of India]


(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Karnataka chief minister has said that state government would stand guarantor for the loan to be raised by KIADB and asked the Board to go ahead with the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project near Devanahalli. He announced this after chairing the State High Level Empowered Committee (SHLEC) on ITIR project headed. He decided to go ahead with the land acquisition process without any delay further.



Minister for IT,BT, Planning and Statistics, Science and Technology S R Patil, who is also vice chairman of SHLEC on ITIR, said it is an ambitious project, which has the potential to make the State a largest IT cluster overtaking Silicon Valley of USA.

The project is planned in an area of 10,500 acres near Kempegowda International Airport near Devanahalli. It will be implemented in two phases. Once commissioned fully by 2032, it will provide direct employments to the tune of 12 lakhs and 28 lakhs indirect jobs. It is expected to contribute immensely to the State economy.
