United States : HARDWARE-software deal inked by SAP and Unisys [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Two Philadelphia-area business computing giants have cut a deal to cooperate on a new offering as clients move from in-house computer servers and enterprise software to remote cloud-based servers and smartphone-compatible applications, which have so far proved less lucrative. Unisys, the Blue Bell computer, software and Services Company, will pack realtime analytics based on SAP's HANA database software into its Forward by Unisys server systems, Unisys chief executive Ed Coleman stated clients at its Universe 2014 trade show in Dallas today. SAP, established in Germany, has its U.S. headquarters in Newtown Square, where CEO Bill McDermott is also based. SAP spokeswoman Cindy McKendry said that the Unisys deal is "proof of SAP's success as a platform company at the forefront of industry trends . SAP has declared a separate HANA distribution deal with IBM's SoftLayer unit. Unisys said that the Coleman is leaving Unisys, which is searching for a new boss who will grow the company.
