Datto wins Marcum Tech Top 40 again [The Hour, Norwalk, Conn.]


(Hour (Norwalk, CT) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 14--HARTFORD -- Marcum and the Connecticut Technology Council announced the winners of the 2014 Marcum Tech Top 40, an annual awards program recognizing the fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut. Results were unveiled at a gala reception recently at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford.



The overall 2014 winner is Norwalk-based Datto Incorporated, a provider of data backup and disaster recovery, which won this award for the second consecutive year. It led all finalists with revenue growth of 1,436 percent since 2010. Datto also won in the IT Services category.

"It's remarkable and humbling to achieve such an honor as the leading technology company in Connecticut," Datto Founder and CEO Austin McChord said in a statement. Other category winners were: Revolution Lighting Technologies, Stamford (Advanced Manufacturing); FuelCell Energy, Danbury (Energy/Environmental Technologies); Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Cheshire (Life Sciences); iSend, Middlebury (New Media/Internet/Telecom); and Square 9 Softworks, New Haven (Software).


The Marcum Tech Top 40, now in its seventh year, recognizes technology leaders with at least $3 million in annual revenue and a four-year record of growth, in six industry sectors. Both privately held and publicly traded companies are eligible.
