Westcon says Taute's attention to detail, strategic customer focus and ability to develop partner-led business development plans placed her as the ideal candidate for the role. Taute notes her long-term goal is to nurture and grow the Comstor business through further developing the channel partners and resellers, creating new opportunities for partners within the greater market that is the Internet of things (IOT). "I am also looking forward to opening new markets for partners as well as helping our customers by acting as an extension of their sales teams and providing them with access to value-added services when and where appropriate," she says. Taute started her career in the ICT industry more than 22 years ago and has held executive management positions in marketing and sales as well as strategic accounts management. According to Paul Conradie, CEO, Weston Group Southern Africa, Taute is a driven, motivated individual who understands the partner landscape and has an intimate knowledge of both the Cisco and NetApp businesses. Taute explains the company predominantly sells and promotes the Cisco and NetApp offerings and this position enables Comstor to help its customers unlock future business opportunities within the scope of the IOT as well help them create connected data centres that are future ready. "A challenge for many of our partners is creating a position for themselves in this cloud era. We are working with them to help them understand how they can assist their customers in embracing the cloud, using the cloud to drive more business and unlocking the cloud within their own businesses," she says.
