Vanuatu : TRR - TVL, DIGICEL VANAUTU ink amendment to interconnection deal [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulator (TRR), of Vanuatu has announced that the two local telcos Telecom Vanuatu Limited (TVL) and Digicel Vanuatu have inked a revision to their interconnection deal from April 2014. The revised deal, which was negotiated without involving the regulator, now includes a new service that allows the origination, transfer and termination of calls to toll free numbers that are allocated to the two respective carriers. The TRR says that interconnection between the two mobile operators is needed under Section 26 of the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulation Act. The two telcos inked an Interim Interconnection Agreement for the period 25 June 2008- 25 June 2010, which was subsequently replaced by a new deal on 8 June 2012, effective 26 June 2012 for a duration of two years, when Vanuatu's telecoms market was liberalised in 2008.
