Aselsan receives EUR 4mn order from Turkish ministry. [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]


(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aselsan, Turkey's largest defence company, informed in a filing with the stock exchange that it signed on October 2 (Thursday) an agreement worth TRY 11.4mn (EUR 4mn) in order to sell hardware, software and licenses to Turkish ministry of interior affairs to upgrade the ministry's IT infrastructure. The deliveries will be made within this year, the statement detailed.



Aselsan signed on September 9 an agreement worth USD 2.89mn to sell optoelectronic devices to Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering (KAE). The deliveries will be made in 2015.

Aselsan informed on September 2 that the consortium, set up by Aselsan and Havelsan, a Turkish software and systems company developing solutions in defence and IT industries, signed an additional contract with undersecretariat of Turkish defence ministry worth EUR 206mn under the scope of the national warship project (Milgem). Aselsan's share in the new deal was EUR 141mn and deliveries will be made in 2019-2020.


Aselsan's consolidated net income increased to TRY 141mn in Q2 from TRY 27.5mn net income a year ago. The market had expected Aselsan to report a net income of TRY 105mn in Q2. Consolidated revenues of the defence firm amounted to TRY 615mn in the second quarter versus TRY 551mn in the same quarter of 2013.Aselsan also reported a net income of TRY 198.6mn for H1, up from TRY 100mn net income in the first half of 2013. H1 consolidated revenues of the defence firm rose to TRY 1.1bn from TRY 982mn a year ago.
