Dubai Commerce Chamber signs MoUs to enhance CSR in Dubai [ICN.com Financial Markets]

(ICN.com Financial Markets Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed two Memorandums of Understandings (MoU) with the General Secretariat of the Dubai Executive Council and Dubai SME, aiming to develop corporate social responsibility (CRS) in Dubai, according to a statement from the Dubai Executive Council on Tuesday. The Chamber took a major step aiming to enhance the general framework of CRS in Dubai by setting new standards with the Dubai's Executive Council. The MoUs will construct a general CSR structure that will be a reference for companies and institutions seeking to adopt initiatives that will serve the community in an adequate manner. Basically, the structure will include new CSR concepts and sustainability standards, and will detail the importance of CSR and its future impact. The memorandum will also develop a list of the best institutions that adopt the new framework's initiatives through a system of evaluation put by the Chamber of Commerce alongside the General Secretariat. The MoU signing is the first step towards drafting the framework, which will be based on studies, surveys and benchmark. The final launch date will be announced at a later stage after developing the framework and discussing it with the concerned expertise and companies in Dubai," Abdullah Al Shaibani, the Secretary-General of the Dubai Executive Council said on Tuesday. The adoption of responsible and sustainable acts of CSR will help companies improve their reputation among their customers, and can increase competitiveness through the proper use of CSR while on the same time helping the community.
