Emirates Gas hosts LPG Safety Programme for University of Wollongong Students [Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates)](Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DUBAI, 1st October, 2014 (WAM) -- Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a subsidiary of the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has hosted a delegation of students from the University of Wollongong - Chinese Campus to brief them on the operations, products and services of EMGAS, as well as impart a comprehensive LPG safety awareness programme. The students toured the premises of EMGAS and took part in the LPG Safety and Awareness Programme, one of the key Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the company. The students are interns with the China National Petrol Company, and are looking to work or live in the Arab world after their education. The students were provided the LPG Safety and Awareness Programme in Arabic, as they are also fluent in the language. Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director – ENOC Gas Marketing and General Manager of EMGAS, said, "The delegation of Arabic-speaking students offered us a strong opportunity to present to them our LPG Safety and Awareness Programme. By training them in Arabic, we expect they can further apply their knowledge and learning more effectively as they seek to work in the Arab world." He added, "Extending the training session to the students further builds on our CSR commitment. We believe that sharing our knowledge with the student community is important to further uphold the high standards of safety in LPG usage and handling." Ali Abdullatif Al-Hammadi, Quality Coordinator at EMGAS presented an overview of the organisation and provided them in-depth insights on various EMGAS products and services. He also led the LPG Safety and Awareness Programme, which covered various aspects including safe handling and storage of LPG cylinders, as well as the various factors to be considered to ensure the highest standards of safety when using LPG at residential or commercial sites. EMGAS has provided similar training programmes for students from a number of educational institutions including Al Ahlia School, Sumaya Bint Al Khayat Ajman Secondary School, Muzaira School, Institute of Applied Technology, Dubai Women's College, Higher Colleges of Technology, NIVE, Dubai National School and Al Shoola School, among others.
