Komercni banka pulls Prague bourse higher in morning trade


(Czech News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Prague, Sept 30 (CTK) Shares on the Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) grew moderately this morning and the PX index gained 0.47 percent to 990.89 points by 11:00, pulled higher by Komercni banka again, according to data on the bourse's website.



Komercni banka increased by 1.54 percent to Kc5,138, showing the secondhighest trading turnover.

Energy company CEZ rose by 0.6 percent to Kc667.


Erste Bank gained 0.97 percent to Kc498.6 after Monday's fall.

"Czech shares might have been boosted by a comment made by Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) that representatives of CSSD (Social Democrats) no longer press him to introduce a special tax on utilities, banks and telecommunication companies," analyst Pavol Mokos of company Patria Direct said.

The biggest gainer was petrochemical group Unipetrol which grew by 6.07 percent to Kc120.5.

Almost a half of the main 14 issues on the Prague bourse stagnated and several other retreated.

The biggest loser was mobile operator O2 which fell by 2.47 percent to Kc308.1.

Brewery PLG also decreased, trading 1.2 percent lower at Kc165 at 11:00 The Czech crown stagnated versus the euro at Kc27.51/EUR at 11:15, and versus the dollar it lost 10 hellers to Kc21.81/$ compared to Monday's close, server Patria Online said.
