Ashland University Hires New Information Technology Executive(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ASHLAND, Ohio, Sept. 15 -- Ashland University issued the following news release: Bobby L. Matney Jr. of Lexington has been hired as executive director of Information Technology at Ashland University. Matney comes from Netpoint Consulting in Lexington, Ohio, where he worked as principal consultant and owner since 2011. In that role, Matney analyzed customers' business processes and developed IT strategies to facilitate efficient use of resources and provided contract network administration services to small and medium sized businesses. Prior to that, he served as director of information technology at North Central State College in Mansfield from July of 2009 to November 2011, where he provided leadership to the department responsible for network infrastructure, all faculty/staff/student computers, printers, ERP system, PBX/VoIP phone system, internal operational reports and Ohio Board of Regents' Higher Education Information system (HEI) reporting. From 2007 to 2009, he served as project manager for ERP implementation of Datatel's Colleague ERP system at North Central, and from 2004 to 2009 served as programmer/analyst at North Central. He also served as assistant professor in North Central's Business Division from 2000 to 2003. Matney received a Master of Business Administration degree with a major in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Information Systems from Ohio State University. He also has a technology leadership certificate from Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y. He also served as technical consultant for Cott Systems in Columbus, Ohio, from 1999 to 2000, as service technician for Computerland of Medina from 1997 to 1999 and as vice-president of production for Grant St. John from 1994 to 1996.
