Vodafone's ONO Taps TiVo's Cloud Services(dpa-AFX International Compact Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NEWBURY (dpa-AFX) - Set-top box maker TiVo Inc. (TIVO) Saturday announced that ONO, a Spanish cable operator and a provider of broadband communication and entertainment services, has tapped TiVo's cloud service APIs to enhance customers' TV viewing experience on multiple screens. At the International Broadcasting Conference or IBC 2014, ONO, now part of Telecom giant Vodafone Group Plc. (VOD.L, VOD), announced the company will integrate TiVo's service capabilities into its TV Everywhere mobile and web applications, including search and discovery capabilities and remote PVR recording management functionality. ONO partnered with TiVo in 2011 to develop its next-generation television offering. David Sandford, TiVo's VP and General Manager, International, said, "Our work with ONO has already demonstrated how operators can effectively develop and customize a hybrid television platform that is quick to market, feature-rich and flexible. We're pleased that ONO plans to leverage the TiVo Service to power its TV Everywhere solution and provide their subscribers a consistent experiences across all screens."
