Kuwait stocks trek 5.62 pts higher to 7,479.82 points [Arab Times (Kuwait)]


(Arab Times (Kuwait) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: Kuwait stocks trekked 5.62 points higher to 7,479.82 points with mixed boards marking a 0.08 percent advance. The weighted index stood at 492.91 points, creeping 0.42 points higher. The KSE 15 benchmark also closed in the green with a 2.47 rise to 1,205.13 points. The total volume turnover in the bourse today was 222.36 million shares to the value of KD 23 million in 5,432 trades. 143 counters remained active with 41 companies advancing, 40 companies retreating and 62 companies closing with no change from the previous session.



Contracting & Marine Services Co was the top gainer of the day, moving 7.81 percent higher to 138 fils while Al Mudon Intl. Real Estate Co gained 7.55 percent to 114 fils. Gulf Franchising Holding Co also made a 7.14 percent upturn to 75 fils with low activity while Pearl Of Kuwait Real Estate Co and Al-Deera Holding Co both made a 6.67 percent increment to 16 fils and 24 fils respectively.

Noor Financial Investment Company, on the other hand, took a hard 6.35 percent fall to 118 fils while Kuwait Real Estate Holding Company slipped 6.17 percent down to 38 fils and Al Madar Finance and Investment took a 5.26 percent downturn to 54 fils. Kipco Asset Management Co, at the same time, fell 5.17 percent lower to 110 fils while Automated Systems Company closed at 420 fils with a 3.45 percent decrease.


Telecommunications closed at 770.5 points with a 0.52 percent contraction. Mobile Telecommunications Company - Zain and Ooredoo both held ground at 670 fils and KD 1.5 respectively while Hits Telecom Holding Company tumbled 1 point lower to 51 fils.

Flat Banking Sector closed at a flat 1107.5 points. National Bank of Kuwait went up 10 points to wind up at 990 fils while Kuwait Finance House stood firm at 810 fils. Boubyan Bank closed flat at 510 fils while Warba Bank shifted 5 points higher to 275 fils. Gulf Bank and Ithmaar Bank posted no change to their share price, finishing at 340 fils and 46 fils respectively. Commercial Bank of Kuwait, concurrently, closed flat at 690 fils.

Al-Deera Holding Co traded the highest volume stock of the day with a 23.19 million shares, while Gulf Finance House traded 16.65 million shares. Kuwait Remal Real Estate Co exchanged 15.6 million shares on the floor.

Financial Services closed at 1,036.2 points making up 56.16 percent of the total volume turnover in the session today and 30.135 of the total value. Gulf Finance House inched 0.5 points to 39.5 fils while Noor Financial Investment Company took a 8 point dive to 118 fils. Al Deera Holding Company mounted 1.5 points to 24 fils while Gulf Investment House and A'ayan Leasing & Investment Co closed flat at 63 fils and 83 fils respectively.

Manazel Holding and Amwal International Investment Co, in the meantime, closed at 58 fils and 49.5 fils. First Investment Company, Bayan Investment Company and Al-Mal Investment Company stood unchanged at 108 fils, 87 fils and 42.5 fils respectively. Inovest took a 1 point upswing to 81 fils while Al Madar Finance and Investment sagged 3 points lower to 54 fils.

International Financial Advisors slid 1 point down to 58 fils. OSOUL Investment Co jumped 5 points ahead with a 83 fils close and Privatization Holding Company edged 1 point lower to 70 fils. Kuwait Projects Company Holding (KIPCO) at the same time, plunged 10 points lower to 720 fils and Coast Investment and Development Company closed flat at 66 fils.

Al Aman Investment Company rolled 1 point higher to 86 fils while Housing Finance Co clambered 0.5 points higher to 24 fils. Gulf North Africa Holding Company closed flat at 51 fils while Al-Qurain Holding Co scrambled up 1 point to 41 fils and Ekttitab Holding Company fell to 54 fils with a 1 point reduction.

Real Estate made a 0.44 percent progress to 1288.5 points. Kuwait Remal Real Estate Company stood firm at 93 fils while Al Mudon International Real Estate Company closed at 114 fils with an 8 point swell. Mabanee Co shot up 20 points to KD 1.100 while Al Mazaya Holding Company pulled off a 2 point rise to 126 fils.

Hiked International Resorts Company and Kuwait Real Estate Company closed flat at 55 fils and 82 fils respectively. A'ayan Real Estate Co slithered 1 point lower to 98 fils and First Dubai for Real Estate Development hiked 2 points higher to 104 fils. Abyaar Real Estate Development Company closed flat at 49.5 fils and Al Arabiya Real Estate Company inched 1 point higher at 57 fils.

The Oil and Gas sector closed 0.44 percent higher at 1268.2 points. Gulf Petroleum Investment stood firm at 104 fils, trading 2.99 million shares in the session while Al-Safat Energy Holding eased 0.5 points lower to 38.5 fils. Ikarus Petroleum Industries Co slid 4 points down to 194 fils even as Contracting & Marine Services Co took a 10 point hike to 138 fils. The Energy House Holding Company closed flat at 86 fils.

Basic Materials index stood at 1267.3 points, posting no change. Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company, Boubyan Petrochemical Company and Kuwait Foundry Co all closed flat at 246 fils, 770 fils and 370 fils respectively.

In Industrials, the index was 0.08 percent higher at 1176.3 points at the session's end. Agility Public Warehousing Company was stable was 910 fils and trading a robust volume while Mubarrad Transport Co crawled 1 point lower to 88 fils. Salbookh Trading Company skid 3 points down to 94 fils while Equipment Holding Company and National Cleaning Co closed flat at 156 fils and 106 fils respectively. Mushrif Trading & Contracting Co stumbled 1 point lower to 91 fils while KGL Logistics Company gained 2 points to close at 124 fils.

In Technology, Hayat Communications Co climbed 2 points higher to 90 fils while Automated Systems Company cast off 15 points to close at 420 fils. Al-Safat Tec Holding Company and Future Communications Co. Global closed flat at 64 fils and 132 fils. In Healthcare, Yiaco Medical Co closed flat at 240 fils. In insurance, Wethaq Takaful Insurance Company ebbed 2 points lower to 65 fils.

In Consumer Goods, Kuwait Food Company (Americana) took a 20 point nose dive to KD 3.120 while Danah Al Safat Foodstuff Company dipped 2 points down to 88 fils. Livestock Transport & Trading Co closed flat at 192 fils while Kuwait United Poultry Co budged 2 points higher to 188 fils albeit with marginal volume traded.
