United Kingdom : Anritsu to demonstrate PAM4 and PAM8 test solutions at up to 28Gbps at ECOC 2014 exhibition [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Anritsu today announced that visitors to the ECOC 2014 exhibition (22-24 September, Cannes, France) will be able to see a demonstration of a test platform for engineers investigating the latest PAM4 and PAM8 (pulse amplitude modulation) techniques intended for use in 25Gbps and 28Gbps communications links.

The platform, which provides for very high-quality simulation of PAM4 and PAM8 signals, consists of the Anritsu MP1800A signal quality analyser (Bit Error Rate Tester, BERT), combined with the new MZ1834A PAM4 converter. In the demonstration, the signal output is analysed by the 65GHz LabMaster oscilloscope from LeCroy.

The MP1800A/MZ1834A test platform will be on view to visitors to Anritsu at stand 379 at the ECOC exhibition.

The MP1800A is also on view in a separate demonstration of a test system used by Xyratex (part of Seagate), the Fraunhofer Institute, IZM and ILFA in the SEPIANet research project. This project successfully developed an embedded planar glass waveguide optical backplane and pluggable optical interconnect technologies for use in very high-speed data communications systems.

The project s measurement set-up included the MP1800A because of its excellent eye quality, extremely low intrinsic jitter and fast transition times, specified at data rates from 100Mbps to 56Gbps.

In July, Anritsu launched a new generation of its famous Network Master family of optical field testers. Visitors to stand 379 will be able to perform hands-on evaluations of the new MT1000A Network Master Pro, an all-in-one optical network field tester which supports the multiple communications protocols used in today s converged telecom networks. It is aimed at technicians who install and maintain mobile-access, fixed-access, metro and core transmission telecoms networks, and is the world s first field portable tester with full OTN mapping capability.

Also for the installation and maintenance of optical networks, the MT9083 Access Master OTDR will be demonstrated on a fourth pod on the Anritsu stand. Visitors will be able to evaluate features such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and the innovative Fiber Visualizer tool, which makes it easy to visually verify the quality of fibre connections.
