The ExactTarget Marketing Cloud from salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) announced today that Emmy-nominated actress Mindy Kaling, New York Times best selling author John Green and Facebook (News - Alert) VP, Global Partnerships Blake Chandlee have been added as keynote speakers at Connections, the digital marketing event of the year. Held Sept 23-25 in Indianapolis, IN, Connections will also feature Marc Benioff (News - Alert), CEO, salesforce.com; Scott McCorkle, CEO, ExactTarget Marketing Cloud; Nick Besbeas, vice president of marketing, LinkedIn (News - Alert); Charles Best, CEO, Donorschoose.org; Beth Comstock, CMO, GE and will.i.am, entrepreneur, musician and philanthropist. The Script and DJ Casey Connor will join will.i.am on stage for the 2nd annual Connections Live Music Festival.

Built on the theme of "The Journey is the Reward," Connections offers access to renowned speakers and more than 75 breakout sessions along ten unique content tracks.



New speakers announced today include:

  • Mindy Kaling, actor, writer, producer, and director. In 2013, Entertainment Weekly identified Kaling as one of the "50 Coolest and Most Creative Entertainers" in Hollywood. In the same year, Kaling was recognized by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Kaling currently stars in the FOX comedy series "The Mindy Project," which she also writes and executive produces. Kaling was nominated five consecutive times for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series as a producer of The Office.
  • John Green, New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author and one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2014. Green won the 2006 Printz Award for his debut novel, "Looking for Alaska," and his most recent novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" debuted at number 1 on The New York Times Best Seller list in January 2012. The story is narrated by a sixteen-year-old cancer patient named Hazel Grace Lancaster, who is forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she subsequently meets and falls in love with the seventeen-year-old Augustus Waters, an ex-basketball player and amputee. Green is also well known for his VlogBrothers YouTube channel; he has launched events such as Project for Awesome, VidCon and created a total of 11 online series.
  • Blake Chandlee, Vice President, Global Partnerships, Facebook. In his role, Blake oversees the strategy, partnerships and commercial relationships across the major advertising holding companies, strategic technology partners such as preferred marketing developer's, DSP's, Data/Audience partners and Facebook's key global accounts. Chandlee started at Facebook in 2007 and spent his first four years building Facebook's International business and was responsible for launching offices across EMEA, APAC and LATAM before returning to the US in his current position.
