Harman and Spotify® Team Up to Simplify Streaming Audio for Global Listeners

HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group (NYSE:HAR), announced today at IFA 2014 that the JBL Authentics Wireless Home Audio Series will now include Spotify (News - Alert) Connect compatibility. Spotify Connect, developed by the digital music service, will allow listeners to seamlessly shift the audio they are listening to via Spotify on other devices over to their Wi-Fi connected HARMAN home systems without interruption.

JBL Authentics Wireless Home Entertainment Series

First announced at CES (News - Alert) 2014 and the first to boast HARMAN's Clari-Fi technology, the JBL Authentics L16 and L8 are ideal sound systems for use with any audio source -from satellite and Internet radio to an MP3 file. Now, with Spotify Connect, JBL Authentic owners will be able to easily access millions of songs directly with complete control from a smartphone or mobile device with less battery drain and range improvement as well as new multi-tasking capabilities, so you can text, play games and watch videos without interrupting the music or impacting audio quality.

JBL Authentics units already in market will receive a software update shortly that will feature Spotify Connect. The Spotify Connect functionality will be standard on all new models shipped moving forward. Additionally, the JBL Authentics Series features AirPlay (News - Alert), DLNA and Bluetooth connectivity so audio can be streamed easily from any wireless device.

The JBL Authentics L16 and L8 are available for $999.95 and $599.95 respectively, and can be purchased online at JBL.com and in-store at participating retailers.
