Gupta Technologies' TD Mobile Enables Non-profit Organization, Friends of Israel, Access to Critical Data from Mobile Devices While in the Field

Gupta Technologies, a global provider of application development, database and migration software, today announced a successful deployment of a mobile application using TD Mobile by the Friends of Israel (FOI) organization. FOI is now able to quickly and easily access information as their employees visit with donors.

Recently, FOI employees required the use of laptops while traveling to meet with individuals outside of their office. Their employees needed access to company systems remotely (via VPN) to retrieve the same information the TD Mobile application is now able to provide. While the users can still access information through their laptops, utilizing a smaller, mobile device makes this process much more convenient and easy-to-use when working remotely.

FOI used the Layout Editor in TD Mobile to quickly drag-and-drop rich controls to build an interface the employees could access on a tablet display, or a smart phone display, to allow viewing of key corporate data they need while in the field. For example, FOI was able to easily integrate their systems with the features of the mobile device, including the GPS capabilities, enabling their users to automatically access maps and directions when a donor address were requested.

"Ease of use was really important to us when selecting a mobile enterprise development solution," said Dan Pearson, Director of Information Services for FOI. "We wanted a solution where we could drop fields on a screen and accomplish something that would be usable on both iPad tablets and smart phones.
