Riptide Software Appraised at CMMI Level 4

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Orlando, FL (PRWEB) September 02, 2014 Riptide Software, a leading provider of military training systems, cloud and mobile development, and enterprise integration services, today announced that it has been appraised at Level 4 of the CMMI Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. This appraisal was performed by Software Quality Center, LLC.

"Being formally assessed at CMMI Level 4 is a great achievement that validates Riptide's commitment to quality and our focus on Riptide's core values, such as accountability in the delivery of successful software products," said Riptide President and Chief Executive Officer Philip Loeffel. "Attaining level 4 illustrates that we've created a culture of excellence." An appraisal at maturity level 4 indicates that the organization is performing at a "quantitatively managed" level. At this level, the organization and projects establish quantitative objectives for quality and process performance and use them as criteria in managing projects.

"This appraisal demonstrates the importance our firm places on improving processes throughout our organization," added Riptide Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering Barry Clinger. "We will continue our efforts toward maximizing the capability of our people and our processes." Riptide was appraised at CMMI Level 3 in November of 2006, based on a Standard CMMI-based Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) covering the Orlando, FL facility.

Kris Puthucode, Carnegie Mellon Certified High Maturity Lead Appraiser from Software Quality Center, who led the CMMI Level 4 appraisal, said, "I count Riptide as one of the very few organizations that has pursued process maturity, and higher maturity in process, over several years. It feels good to work with an organization with management and all levels of staff so committed to continuing the cause of improving processes--and which leverages the latest best practices in our software industry, where the CMMI is the de-facto 'Gold Standard.' This demonstrates Riptide's proven ability to deliver exceptional value to its customers and meet established targets on time, within budget, and with quality."
