Windows Phone Apps developers' contest, Hackathon, in ITCN


(Balochistan Times (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Over 200 students and software developers from different universities will compete in a contest to develop Windows phone applications in “Hackathon”, being organised during the 14th ITCN Asia, International Information Technology and Telecom Show, at Expo Centre here.



The best of the Windows Phone Apps will be awarded in the three-day event comprising 210 stalls with 78 companies which succeeded in attracting over 30 foreign companies and 80 foreign visitors.

Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Syed Ismail Shah and Chairman and CEO, AXACT Group Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh inaugurated the event-the Biggest ICT Expo in the history of Pakistan.


They visited the stalls, met domestic and foreign exhibitors and witnessed the products that are catered to various ages, needs and requirements.

It is for the first time in the history of ITCN Asia, Microsoft Corporation Pakistan, that MIT Enterprise Forum of Pakistan and Ecommerce Gateway have joined hands to organise a Hackathon at the event that will host 200 to 250 students and developers from different universities.

ICT products/services, telecommunications equipments, systems, networking, IT solutions, software/programmes, office automation, multimedia devices and digital products are being displayed at ITCN Asia 2014.

Some of the major participants include Mobilink, ZONG, Wi-Tribe, Wateen, Prolink, NingBo, NADRA, A & A System, FortiNet, Crown Micro etc.

Participants from more than 15 countries including China, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, UAE, Korea, Middle East, Switzerland, UK, USA and others are gathered at the platform of 14th ITCN Asia. The three-day Event is organised by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan.

DG Commercial NADRA, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Co-Founder and COO, Axact Viqas Atiq and President Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan Dr Khursheed Nizam were also present on the occasion.
