Twingo goes back to the future [Liverpool Echo (England)](Liverpool Echo (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) THE spirit of the original Twingo city car of 1993, as well as the Renault 5 of the 1970s and 80s, will be echoed in the design of the all-new model, due next month. This latest, third generation Twingo will cost from Pounds 9,495 and boast a funto-drive character as well as aspects of the 2013 Twin'Run and Twin'Z concept cars. That price is for the entrylevel Expression SCe 70, while the Play SCe 70 - expected to be one of the most popular models - comes in at less than Pounds 10,000. Three versions - Expression, Play and Dynamique - are powered by a choice of two engines - the new 1.0-litre 70bhp SCe three- cylinder petrol and a Dynamique TCe 90 with a 0.9-litre 90bhp three- cylinder turbocharged unit. Dynamique models have Renault's Stop & Start system, which cuts the engine when the car is stationary in traffic. Connectivity comes as standard through the new smartphone- operated R & GO system, while Dynamique models offer the option of the R-Link multimedia system with a seven-inch touchscreen, voice control, TomTom navigation and 3D sound by Arkamys. DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB sockets are standard on every version. All cars also get stuff like body-coloured bumpers, a rear spoiler and LED daytime running lights, plus electric front windows, remote central locking, a speed limiter, trip computer and gearchange indicator. Go for the more upmarket Play version and there's air-con, a height-adjustable driver's seat and steering wheel, plus 15in black, two-tone wheel trims in place of the grey ones with Expression. Dynamique versions add tasty extras like 15in alloys, front fog lamps, electricheated door mirrors, cruise control, a lane departure warning system, leather steering wheel and white instrument backlighting. And a range of personalisation options will allow customers to create a bespoke Twingo, thanks to an interior style pack, interior touch pack, exterior touch pack and a choice of different alloy wheels and side decals.
