InnerApps provides software solutions [Toledo Business Journal]

(Toledo Business Journal Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A northwest Ohio information technology firm has positioned itself in the computer security business. According to Forbes, 30,000 websites get hacked every single day, and according to the website hackmageddon.com, 54% of all computer hacks (home, work, and otherwise) were the result of cybercrime, cyberwarfare, or cyberspying. InnerApps, LLC, is trying to help alleviate the cyberspace strain by producing identity and access management solutions for the security and identity marketplace.

InnerApps offers Identity Syncronizer, an identity management software tool that provides direct integration to Microsoft's Active Directory system, and allows application level security management for on-premise and cloud applications.

Identity Syncronizer also allows users to manage their users and line of business applications in one location; and synchronize the user passwords, from Active Directory (AD) to the applications. In addition, it offers IDSync, an identity and access management platform for access management, identity management, single sign-on / SSO, user provisioning, password management, and access compliance management.

"This allows you to enforce password policies without the burden of having to support users who have trouble remembering several passwords for several programs - requiring frequent password resets," the company noted.

Identity Syncronizer also leverages the power of Windows security groups.

"You can set application security settings at a group level, and members of that group are automatically provisioned with the proper application permissions," the company further stated. "[The application] is designed to reduce IT costs and security risks relating to computer user password, identity and access management to software applications and data residing on diverse operating systems." A division of Tranztec Created as a division of Tranztec Solutions Inc., a software and technical services firm out of Perrysburg that has been building software since 2001, and specializing in technology for the transportation industry. It was after Traztec developed an identity access program for one of its long-time customers that the idea for a new subsidiary was born.

InnerApps was launched in 2008 as an independent company to allow it to focus exclusively on the security and identity marketplace.

InnerApps was founded by president and CEO Toby Miller (who also founded Traztec Solutions), vice president of operations Marty Rini, and CFO Deborah Gordon.

"InnerApps' core focus and competency is [to] create groundbreaking products that allow businesses to reduce their costs and increase security," the company noted.

The InnerApps staff carries industry standard certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, 3Com, IBM, Novell, ANX E-business, and others. "We supply technology solutions across a wide spectrum of industries and to business of all sizes," according to the company.

IDSync "InnerApps is selling its IDSync platform directly to mid-size firms with 100 to 10,000 employees with access to multiple applications," according to hivelocitymedia.com. "The product helps lower business risks and IT operational costs, while improving data security," according to Rini. "IDSync is also sold indirectly through reseller channels such as Microsoft Exchange and other large hosting companies in the world with 20,000 to 300,000 customers." The company's clients include manufacturing, architectural, finance, and retail companies. Additionally, they perform consulting practices that specialize in the transportation, logistics, warehousing, and supply chain vertical markets.

Recent strides and looking ahead InnerApps has continued to expand it presence. Over the past year, it was shared that customers of WebsitePanel 2.0, a provisioning platform for cloud and IT service providers could begin utilizing Identity Syncronize to integrate customer identity information from Microsoft's Active Directory.

According to the company, a user's corporate identity, stored within Active Directory, is synchronized with WebsitePanel bi-directionally keeping all critical information such as name, location, phone, application, and service configuration information updated with each change made at the end-customer. IDSync manages the on-boarding, bulk provisioning, password management, and synchronization of the data between WebsitePanel security mechanisms and the centralized store of user's identity and provisioning information in Active Directory. This gives WebsitePanel administrators a way to eliminate client adoption barriers and manage user and resource information on an ongoing basis, while eliminating the need to maintain the same data in two systems.

It was also revealed over the past year that InnerApps teamed with Parallels Automation, a leading hosting and cloud services enablement provider, to design and develop the next generation of the Application Packaging Standard (APS) 2.0 integration to support deployments on the Parallels Automation platform that integrates with Microsoft's Hosted Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync Active Directory (AD) features. The new features for the APS version 1.2 package builds on the original Active Directory Connector for Parallels Automation. Along with its capability to provision Exchange and SharePoint users into a Parallels Automation environment, the current version of the IDSync software was upgraded to include additional support fa Microsoft's Hosted Lync product.

"Customers who use Microsoft servers have been looking for an answer to the identity management problem for many years. And managing access to software applications and data can be very costly for the mid-size firm Which is one of the primary reasons for end-user frustration," Miller offered hivelocitymedia.com.

"Service providers need to add new clients to their business management platform as quickly as possible to maximize their revenues," Rini added. "Our goal is to deliver on the promise of Active Directory so that it can truly become a single source of identity information for both cloud and on-premise application."
