The 8.4 revision uses powerful analytics to provide insight, enabling IAM to be driven based on knowledge gleaned continuously from an enterprise's identity and access data repositories. This intelligence-driven approach informs and improves the entire IAM lifecycle with continuous monitoring, from initial user provisioning through governance. With this revision of the Courion (News - Alert) Access Assurance Suite, business policy validation is fully integrated into the access definition and user provisioning process in real time. As a result, inappropriate access assignments can now be flagged from the start and prevented. The new functionality complements the intelligent IAM suite's existing continuous monitoring capabilities, which detect access-related business policy violations whenever they occur, enabling provisioning remediation without the need for human intervention and further automating the governance process. Now when an access request is submitted, the embedded intelligence engine alerts the user with a list of business policy violations. For example, an alert would be triggered automatically if a user requested access to both create purchase orders and approve orders, a Segregation of Duty (SoD) business policy violation. The user is subsequently able to remedy the violation or request a policy exemption. All approvers can easily view the history of the request along with any follow-on exemption requests, providing a more intuitive and holistic access approval process. Together, the suite's intelligence-based provisioning, monitoring and continuous compliance capabilities make it possible for an organization to be compliant from the start and to stay compliant on an ongoing basis. As a result, access risk is reduced and periodic audits are streamlined.
