ITCN Asia to begin from Aug 26(Daily Regional Times (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The 14th ITCN Asia 2014 exhibition will be held here at Karachi Expo Centre from August 26 to 28. Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited is organising the ITCN Asia for 14 consecutive years. It is recognised as the focal point for information technology and telecom industry and is an approved event from a UFI (Paris), said a press release here Friday. This year ITCN Asia has the honour of showcasing, for the first time in Pakistan, 3G and 4G technology at the exhibition. The event is supported by a conference with the theme '3G and 4G: Impetus to Growth.' ITCN Asia is the only ICT Expo of the country which has attracted more than 30 foreign companies and 80 foreign visitors; putting Pakistan on the global ICT map, it said. For the first time in the history of ITCN Asia, Microsoft Corporation Pakistan, MIT Enterprise Forum of Pakistan and Ecommerce Gateway have joined hands in organising a Hackathon at the event that will host 200 to 250 students/ developers from different universities. They will develop different windows and phone apps, and the best apps will be awarded. Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Syed Ismail Shah will inaugurate this event as the chief guest on August 26. Chairman NADRA, Muhammad Ahmed Tajwar, Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan Kazi Abdul Muktadir and Managing Director of Pakistan Software Export Board Asim Shahryar Husain will accompany the PTA Chief. The exhibitions will project a soft image of Pakistan globally and increase trade promotional activities worldwide and ultimately the international market will witness a growth in productivity and economy of Pakistan, said the release. |
