Barrood named new CEO of N.J. Tech Council [NJBIZ (NJ)]

(NJBIZ (NJ) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Entrepreneurship expert lames Barrood was announced last week as the New Jersey Technology Council's new CEO.

Barrood's résumé includes running Fairleigh Dickinson University's Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship since 1997, where he had a large role in connecting the area's entrepreneurial, enterprise and technology community.

The appointment comes with the steppingdown of NJTC's founder, CEO and President Maxine Ballen, who headed the institute for 18 years. Over her time at NJTC, she grew the institution into one of North America's most successful trade organizations.

"I've been part of the NJTC for many years," Ballen said in a news release. "Though I'm looking forward to working on new proj e cts, leaving is bitterswe et. I know the council is in good hands with the appointment of Jim Barrood. It's an exciting time for the council."
