InComm Purchases Siras [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) InComm reported it has enhanced its retail network connectivity by acquiring Siras.com from Nintendo of America (NOA).

Siras provides integrated POS services to retailers and manufacturers for tracking and authorizing sales and returns of products.

"This acquisition helps InComm further expand the portfolio of integrated point-of-sale solutions we offer our global retail partners," said Brooks Smith, InComm President and CEO. "We will integrate SIRAS' products into our existing asset control business and grow that business by utilizing Siras' extensive relationships with manufacturers and InComm's deep relationships with retailers. SIRAS will have the financial backing needed to expand existing services, address new customer needs, deploy new technologies and extend sales efforts." Founded in January 1999 by NOA, SIRAS has created patented business methodologies for tracking products, validating return and warranty eligibility and creating dynamic product data analytics. SIRAS' mission has been to establish the SIRAS Electronic Registration product as an industry standard so retailers would embrace the process as an industry solution for product returns.

"As retail product management becomes more sophisticated and mission-critical, SIRAS is well-aligned with an organization like InComm, who focuses on providing integrated products and services to retailers to help improve their operational performance," said Kristin Secreto, General Manager, SIRAS. "Through InComm, SIRAS' integrated product solutions, patent portfolio and employee skills will be deployed to drive further growth and capabilities for retailers and manufacturers. Our intellectual property (IP) portfolio and value proposition can become even stronger and more strategic when joined with an industry leader like InComm, who will be able to realize the full potential of the inventions of the SIRAS team, especially in emerging areas such as RFID." SIRAS will become a subsidiary of InComm and will continue growing its operations in Redmond, WA.

InComm provides connectivity to a variety of service providers.

Siras offers Electronic Registration (OmniTrace) and return- validation methodology (ReturnFlex) solutions.
