M8trix Girls Volunteer to Distribute Food for Second Harvest Food Bank

SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

The M8trix Girls, a group of celebrated brand ambassadors for Casino M8trix, will appear at the Washington United Youth Center in San Jose on Tuesday to donate food to the homeless on behalf of Second Harvest Food Bank.

Casino M8trix, the premier gaming and entertainment destination for Silicon Valley, is dispatching the M8trix Girls to broaden the casino's charitable mission in the South Bay. Journalists, photographers and camera crews are invited to attend this local photo opportunity, in which the M8trix Girls will bundle donated food and other necessary items into care packages before distributing them to needy local residents.

Casino M8trix is staging this local event to raise awareness of a growing problem. The U.S. Census survey counted 4,770 homeless individuals in San Jose in 2013, up 18% from the previous count in 2011. Of those counted, more than half were still living on the streets, in vehicles, or in abandoned buildings.

The M8trix Girls are a newly formed group of dedicated young women who are committed to attending local events and giving back to the San Jose community on behalf of Casino M8trix. All six members of this mascot squad are residents of the Bay Area. In addition, several members of the casino staff will volunteer their time for the charity event as well.

Other potential public events on the M8trix Girls' calendar this year include attendance at area sporting events, concerts-in-the-park, car shows, farmers markets, street festivals, roadraces and much more.
