United States : INTERNET security firm PrivateCore to be purchased by Facebook [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Facebook is ready to purchase PrivateCore, a company that makes software for validating and securing server data. Financial particulars of the acquisition were not available. Joe Sullivan, Chief Security Officer, Facebook wrote in a post on Facebook, I ve seen how much people care about the security of data they entrust to services like Facebook. We finished implementing HTTPS encryption by default over a year ago, and have also been working to secure all data center traffic with additional protections. In that vein, I m really excited that Facebook has entered into an agreement to acquire PrivateCore. Over time, we plan to deploy PrivateCore s technology directly into the Facebook server stack. The company s CEO, Oded Horovitz, stated, PrivateCore will be joining Facebook. Facebook and PrivateCore have an aligned mission.
